The multiple symptoms now associated with Corona Virus Disease 2019 are many and varied. The same symptoms are also associated with many other ailments other than corona virus disease. Calling a covid-19 patient asymptomatic (no symptoms) is just plain ignorance. It is the presence of symptoms that is the evidence of a developing disease. No symptoms.. no disease.. yes you swabbed positive for the virus however the surface of a desk can also test positive. This does not mean it has or will ever develop a disease.
In the same way that you can test positive for the HIV virus and never develop ‘full blown AIDS'(Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome)… most that test positive for SarsCov2 never develop Covid-19 because their immune system renders it harmless and dissolves the virus rna data.
Someone who has ‘mild symptoms’ and also is carrying the virus may or may not be developing corona virus disease of 2019 . They could just have a cold which is also a corona virus induced condition. Or they could just be tired from a long and arduous campaign trail. At any rate I wish them all good health. Covid-19 disease is real however the terms need to be properly understood so as not to mislead the uninformed.
